Directions: as part of NJSLA preparation, you will be writing a five paragraph essay response using 3 secondary sources and 2 primary sources on the following question:
Which man’s (Booker T. Washington or W.E.B. DuBois) ideas are more effective for ending the racial barrier that existed? Consider their points of view on education, jobs/ economics, and political/ racial equality during that time period.
Writing a research simulation task essay is similar to writing a R.A.C.E. response. However, each body paragraph will have two pieces of evidence to help prove the point you are trying to make for the topic provided.
We have annotated the primary sources together in class. We have viewed the videos in class and you also read the overview essay and participated in class discussions with it.
Above is the graphic organizer and overview of the research simulation task. Below you will find links and/or the sources you will use in your essay. You will also find the rubric for the essay. Please note everything will be submitted via Google Classroom. The documents are also attached in Google Classroom under the topic, "RST Essay".

2) Immigration
3) Urbanization

5) Government Involvement
