Giftmed is a citizen-led initiative to collect unexpired and unused/leftover medicines and distribute them amongst those without access or affordability. The purpose is two fold – Increasing Impact while Reducing Waste.
Giftmed is a non-profit /zero fund organisation, established in 2020. Founders helped in expanding the organization, making it a citywide initiative. It was established with the sole purpose of reducing the medicinal deficit between the poor and the rich by collecting unused medicines from the privileged sections of society and donating them to charitable clinics that eventually distribute them amongst the underprivileged.
Giftmed conducts collection drives at various venues across Nanded.
Our main goal is to see a India in which no poor is denied the opportunity to get medicines just because of their financial condition.Today in India, we see death of thousands of people just because they didn’t have the money to buy the prescribed medicines. Every tablet, injection or syrup which you donate can help save someone's life. Please donate and contribute towards this mission.
For a country in which 45% of all out-of-pocket healthcare spends are due to the cost of medicines, causing millions of citizens to fall below the poverty line every year, this mission will go a long way towards saving lives and livelihoods

STORY BEHIND GIFTMED
We started our journey since covid-19 pandemic we saw a huge demand for medicines. There were many needy patients who did not have access to medication because of huge demand and monitory issues in unprivileged section. On the other hand there is huge wastage of unused medicine. We have collected unused medicine from door to door and supplied to needy patients, we have group of volunteers who are actively involved.
We are expanded in collection of medicines which are now supplied to charitable organisation like civil hospital, primary health care, etc.
