About the College

The Govt. Associate College of Commerce, Sialkot was established in the year 1986 under the administrative control of the defunct Directorate of Technical Education (Technical Wing of Education Department, Punjab) in a rented building in the Cantonment area of Sialkot.

In the year 2000, it was shifted in the Iqbal Hostel building of Govt. Polytechnic College situated at Paris Road, Sialkot under the administrative control of TEVTA.  Unfortunately, this College was dislodged by the local administration after one year in 2001 and again shifted in a rental building at College Road, Sialkot.

By the grace of Almighty Allah and kind patronage of  the then Chairman, TEVTA (Mr. Yousaf Kamal), was  shifted, in November 2004, in the present premises at Katchery Road, Sialkot which was previously under occupation of the Readymade Garments Training Centre (W), Sialkot, a project of Metal Industries Development Centre, Sialkot.  The RMGTC (W) was merged into Govt. Vocational Training Institute (W), Paris Road, Sialkot on losing its utility due to having a meager strength of only two teachers and five students and the premises was resultantly allotted to this College

In order to put it into useable condition, a huge amount was spent by staff of this College on various alterations / modifications in the premises as well as on shifting process.   The funds were generated purely on self-help basis using no Govt. or Pupil Funds.  The premises is independently situated at Katchery Road, Sialkot and is solely under occupation of this College.

The administrative control of this College, alongwith all other commerce institutions in Punjab, has now been shifted from TEVTA to Higher Education Department, Govt. of the Punjab w. e. f. 31-7-2012 (Afternoon).
