The Gibault Difference
At Gibault Catholic High School, we don’t just have a guidance counselor – we have an Educational Success Coordinator. The role of the Educational Success Coordinator is to ensure all our students are successful academically through their four years at Gibault. The ESC is responsible for monitoring student grades and identifying students are need additional support and coordinating that through the student, parents and teachers. Support can be requested through our Request for Assistance Form found here. Any parent, student or teacher can submit this request.
Student Advocacy
Additionally, our Educational Success Coordinator is committed to ensuring our students’ success through the use of tutoring, individual and group work on study skills as well as organizational skills, and working with our faculty to ensure students with accommodations are receiving them in the classroom. The Educational Success Coordinator is an advocate for our students in the classroom, and a coach to them so they can also develop important life skills such as self-advocacy and time management.
How We Work Together
The Educational Success Coordinator also works closely with our College Planning Coordinator to assist our students in identifying their plans for life after high school, whether that be attending college or trade school, or heading straight into the work force. The ESC advises students on the best courses to take in order to achieve their post-high school goals.
Course Changes
Sometimes a student may find that a particular class is not a good fit for them, after the course has already begun. Students may discuss with their teacher, parent and the Educational Success Coordinator whether dropping this class is appropriate (See Parent/Student Handbook for guidelines on this process). Students who wish to drop a course must submit a Course Drop Request Form, found here.
Transcript Requests
Students needing an official transcript for college applications, job applications, insurance verification, etc. can use the form below to request this document.
