Biography
After graduating in Choral Music and Choral Conducting and Singing at the conservatories of Verona, Trento, and Mantua, he subsequently specialized in Baroque singing with Cristina Miatello, beginning an intense concert career, especially in the early music. He collaborated on the recording of Heinrich Schütz's Weihnachtshistorie with the Cappella Augustana and Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo with Sergio Vartolo, both for Brilliant Classics, and J. S. Bach's Johannes Passion BWV 245 with the Antiqua Camerata Veneta. He was musical director of the Amici della Musica Choir (2002-2022), with which he participated in the Festivals of Aix en Provence (France 2004), Les Choralies (Corsica 2005 and 2014), Valsamoggia (Bologna, 2014) and Musica Sacra (Croatia, 2019), of the Choir of the Basilica of San Zeno in Verona (2009-2014) and of the male vocal octet I Madrigalisti Anonimi (2017-2020). He taught Singing and Choral Conducting at the Diocesan School of Sacred Music “S. Cecilia” in Verona and at the Discanto Academy of Arts. Since 2024, he has been the Artistic and Musical Director of the Ensemble Vocale di Caldiero; particularly active as a composer and arranger of choral music, he combines his artistic activity with that of music critic for the magazine GBOpera.
