Biography
A graduate in Choral Music and Choir Conducting, Opera Singing, and Vocal Pedagogy from the Conservatories of Verona, Trento, and Mantua, he later specialized in Baroque vocal performance with Cristina Miatello, embarking on an intense concert career focused particularly on early music. He has taken part in several recordings, including Heinrich Schütz’s Weihnachtshistorie with Cappella Augustana and Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Sergio Vartolo, both released by the Dutch label Brilliant Classics, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach’s Johannes-Passion BWV 245 with Antiqua Camerata Veneta. From 2002 to 2022 he served as Musical Director of the Amici della Musica Choir, with which he appeared at several international festivals, including the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence (France, 2004), Les Choralies (Corsica, 2005 and 2014), the Valsamoggia Festival (Bologna, 2014), and the Musica Sacra Festival (Croatia, 2019). He was also Musical Director of the Choir of the Basilica of San Zeno in Verona (2009–2014) and of the male vocal octet I Madrigalisti Anonimi (2017–2020). He previously held the Chair of Singing and Choral Conducting at the Diocesan School of Sacred Music “S. Cecilia” in Verona and at the Discanto Academy of Arts. Since 2024 he has been Artistic and Musical Director of the Ensemble Vocale Cultural Association of Caldiero. Particularly active as a composer and arranger of choral music, he also works as a music critic for the magazine GBOpera.
