Artist Gianna Campanaro is from Long Island, New York. Campanaro makes experimental artwork by collaging and painting on unconventional materials such as mirrors and fabric, layering inspiration from her family photo albums. In 2024, Ms. Campanaro received her BFA in Studio Art and Art History from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. Through this institution, she was a part of the Kappa Pi Art Honor Society, Dean's Student Circle, and the summer 2023 study abroad trip to Florence, Italy. There she enhanced her studies in art history, specifically in the Italian Renaissance.
Ms. Campanaro won first place in the 2019 Congressional Art Competition, representing the fourth district of Long Island. This led her work to be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Other venues of exhibition include the Heckscher Museum, LIU Post, Farmingdale State College, and Adelphi University. Additional awards are honorable mention (2018) and two gold keys (2019) in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition, a merit in Long Island’s Art Alliance (2019), and a Presidential Purchase Prize for Excellence & Leadership from Adelphi University (2024).
