Games HQ Malaysia was founded in 2009 to address the concern that there was no single-source of information regarding the Malaysian Game Industry and since then, we've been supporting the Malaysian Game Development scene with News, Updates and Information on the development, education and industry level. It is not an official society, but a collective of like-minded individuals who volunteer our time because of our passion and hope to see our industry grow and thrive on an international stage.
In 2025, it was decided that GHQ should formally welcome new members that are driven to see the industry grow and thus the GHQ Guild was conceptualized and mygamedev.info was selected to be the hub to the community.
VISION
To see the continued growth and long-term sustainability of the Malaysian Game Industry.
MISSION
To support the Rakyat through creating awareness in the public on the viability and potential of careers in the game industry.
To support local developers in providing an avenue for hiring, awareness and knowledge sharing.
To support Malaysian Institutions, academics, students, interns and graduates through programs and initiatives.
To support Government Agencies such as the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in their initiatives.
Code of Conduct
As more people join the group, the moderating team is having their hands filled and we find the need to have a basic rules of conduct to keep things flowing.

GamesHQ is meant to cater predominantly to the local development industry within Malaysia but we welcome all developers and members from all around the world who are passionate about making games.
This code of conduct is established to encourage a friendly atmosphere for all members to converse, discuss and share news and issues with each other. Please remember to treat each fellow member with respect and courtesy.
By posting in GamesHQ, you agree to the following Code of Conduct (CoC):
Personal attacks and insults are not tolerated and moderators will issue a warning to the party at fault. Everyone here is a responsible adult and we'd like to keep things here peaceful, pleasant and polite. Doxxing is treated with utmost seriousness and we will delete or ban anyone found deliberately revealing another member's private information with ill intent.
Posts promoting or advocating hate or violence against individuals, groups, races, cultures or organizations or demeaning them because of their gender, culture, ethnic/national origin, skin colour, or sexual preference/identity will not be tolerated. Politics will only be tolerated if it pertains to our industry and how it might be affected by certain policies or ministries.
Spam and advertisements that are not game development or game event related, will not be tolerated. An example of this would be invitations to follow your streaming channel and promoting other products which are not related. These posts will be deleted and if there are repeat offences, the poster will be removed from the group.
Any issues or violations should be reported immediately to the moderation team. Do allow for some time for us to respond accordingly.
What we are not!
GamesHQ has never and will never be a gateway to restrict the speech of anyone within the confines of the Malaysian law. Anything violating that we will take action immediately however as a community administrators, we are NOT the arbiters of right or wrong. As we are an open platform, we will use our best discretion to decide on what should or should not be allowed to remain on the community sites. We do not investigate, or interfere with the daily operations and businesses of any studio unless there has been clear evidence of wrong-doing and a police statement or report.
