A. The GhostLink development team consists of a small, independent group of honest, dedicated enthusiasts with many years of actual paranormal investigation experience, plus an overall love and fascination with the supernatural. We are not backed by any venture capital investors or other outside investment funding. All costs come straight out of our own pockets.
Q. Why did you create GhostLink?
A. We created GhostLink because we grew tired of all the fake and manipulative 'ghost' apps that are currently available. We wanted to create something that didn't give a quick scare, but instead design an app that was truly capable, useful, and reliable during real paranormal investigations.
Q. Who is GhostLink designed for?
A. GhostLink is designed for beginner investigators, experienced investigators, and even casual users (trying to document paranormal activity in their homes, attempting to contact departed loved ones, etc). We have gone out of our way to dissuade thrill seekers who are looking for a quick dopamine hit for entertainment by designing an app that does not fake or manipulate results.

Q. How do I know GhostLink is not faking or manipulating results like other apps do?
A. We cannot prove to you that GhostLink is not faking or manipulating results like other 'ghost' apps commonly do without publicly sharing our code, so you will just have to take our word for it. With that said, part of our mission goal was to specifically design an honest paranormal investigation app that did not fake or manipulate results for entertainment purposes. GhostLink uses deterministic instead of weighted or random results for the features that require it (Ghost Talk, etc). Furthermore, GhostLink does not read your phone's contact lists, scan your personal photo galleries, mine your location to fabricate personalized spirit messages, or listen through the microphone and then tell you what you want to hear. Location access is optional and used only for Haunted Locations map features (such as distance to sites and custom pins), not to drive Ghost Talk or similar tools.
A. Many popular 'ghost' apps rely on small, curated databases—often limited to around 1,500 words. Because these lists are so small and heavily themed with 'spooky' vocabulary, they are mathematically prone to repetition. This creates a high risk of confirmation bias, where the user’s brain naturally forces meaning onto generic words that appear too frequently.
GhostLink takes the opposite approach. We utilize a massive 30,000+ word database for Ghost Talk and Ghost Scanner to ensure that the 'noise-to-signal' ratio is much higher. By using such a large, diverse vocabulary, we drastically reduce the chance of the app accidentally generating a "scary" word that isn't actually tied to an environmental anomaly.
You will find that most of the time, the words produced by Ghost Talk and Ghost Scanner appear to be complete nonsense. This is intentional and expected. In a high-integrity investigation, you should expect silence or incoherent data 95% of the time. We believe that if intelligent communication is occurring, it should be rare, fleeting, and statistically significant—not designed to falsely satisfy expectations.
Q. Why doesn't GhostLink have advertisements or a paid subscription model like other apps?
A. GhostLink doesn't contain intrusive advertisements or have a paid subscription model because we chose the path of honesty, integrity, fairness, and affordability over greed. There's nothing more annoying than having an intrusive ad pop up right in the middle of an investigation. And instead of a paid subscription model that most popular 'ghost' apps have, GhostLink implements a one time Pro upgrade lifetime unlock because we felt that nickel and diming users to maximize profits wasn't in line with our mission goals.
Q. What is your favorite GhostLink feature?
A. As lead developer, while I am proud of all of GhostLink's 25 innovative and groundbreaking features, I would have to say that my personal favorite feature is Specter Ring. Why? Because of its incredible sensitivity, plus its tremendous potential to capture paranormal evidence in ways that existing 'ghost' apps or other hardware are incapable of doing. How? By using a connected Bluetooth speaker to send out high frequency ultrasonic sound waves, detection sensitivity of any reflective changes in the ultrasonic waves allows for even extremely small changes to be reliably detected. How much sensitivity am I talking about? Once Specter Ring settings are properly dialed in, under ideal indoor conditions (hard surfaces, very quiet, etc), slight human hand movement of only a couple of centimeters can be detected at a range of 15+ meters. How does this help to detect paranormal activity? Besides detecting solid object movement, Specter Ring can theoretically detect air density changes related to paranormal activity, such as hot/cold spots, static electricity fields, ion wind (caused by strong electric field ionized air), etc. In addition, when detections occur, video or photos can automatically be captured if enabled. The possibilities are exciting.
