Guidelines for Chairing a GH Online Meeting
1. Let’s invite God/Higher Power in to run the meeting.
2. Follow the outline in the NEW Meeting Chairperson Guide
3. Set the meeting topic in 10-15 minutes (max), then call on someone. In choosing your reading, use only AA-approved literature.
4. Try to call on a strong AA member to begin the meeting and again to close the meeting. If during the meeting you call on one who is “into the problem,” try to follow with someone likely to be “in the solution.”
5. You, as the chairperson, should be the one to call on people. It is not desirable to have others call on the next person.
6. When/if someone tries to “take over” a meeting by talking too long, stop them and advise them to stay afterward to talk.
7. As the chairperson, refrain from making comments after others share.
8. Remember to call on newcomers, people getting chips or having an AA birthday, and any visitors.
9. In an online meeting, the Quarterly Chairperson is responsible for quieting or removing from the meeting anyone disruptive.
Remember, we are only trusted servants. Thank you for giving your time and service to the Glass House and AA.
