Thank you for taking the time to watch this short video. We would like to ask for your help to create the material for the curriculum to prep young creators for jamming. Pick a piece of the curriculum you want to create a micro-lesson and sign-up to be a part of the project.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) ®, Inc. is proud to announce the next step in growing the world of game development & innovation: GGJ NEXT™- a game jam and game curriculum for young creators worldwide, ages 12-17.
We see game development and game jams as a context to learn a wide range of skills and benefit from a diverse set of outcomes that are valuable even for participants who are not moving to game industry. We group these learning outcomes into:
We plan to achieve our educational goal by creating a free curriculum and model for students anywhere to learn basic game development skills (programming, art and design, storytelling, in combination with communication, collaboration, and planning), all infused with STEAM skills. In order to do so, we call on all the members of the GGJ community, and everyone in the game industry and related fields, to join us in the development of the first set of GGJ NEXT curriculum material.
While we understand that our first try will mainly be focused on a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and we aim to enhance and expand it in upcoming years, for the first year we are focusing on the items listed in our curriculum.
Collaborators are needed to create short text and video tutorials presenting the listed items FOR TEACHERS, Club Advisors, Librarians who then in turn will create suitable material for their students. At this point in time we are not targeting material to be used by students directly. Only registered educators and organizers will have access to these materials.
GGJ NEXT educational material will be released for free to public under our terms of agreement for creators and users. The content creators can include their name and organizational affiliation in the material they submit. We have few constraints, but you will need to follow general GGJ NEXT Content Structure which will be outlined in your confirmation. We ask that you allow for your materials will be licensed to GGJ NEXT we will provided all details and a copy of the license in the confirmation email.
The potential collaborators may use this link to show their intent to provide curriculum material. The GGJ NEXT Curriculum Committee will be in touch with you as soon as possible to confirm your participation.
