In February of 2024, we installed our new members. While members can join our club all year long, we officially install just once every year in February.
New members are invited up and told about the history and sisterhood of GFWC and asked to agree to uphold our mission of improving the lives of others through volunteer service.
We are thrilled to welcome all of our newest members, and would love for anyone with an interest in giving back to their community to come join us at our next meeting to find out how you can become involved.
December 2023 marked our annual Holiday Luncheon, where our membership celebrated the season with a lovely meal and many wonderful guests.
This year, we had a small table of donated items for sale to raise additional funds for our kitchen renovation project. Between the luncheon and a downtown Brooksville Christmas event, we were able to raise an additional $2000 towards the kitchen fundraising.
October, 2023 we welcomed People Helping People to speak to us about the work they are doing for the unhoused of Hernando. As a club, we assembled 100 Blessing Bags of essential items to donate to the cause, as well as various additional non-perishable food that they can distribute to the Hernando residents they serve.
GFWC Historic Brooksville Woman's Club is proud to have been their largest single donation drive to date, contributing over 330 pounds of food and supplies to their cause.
Our 2003 Kentucky Derby party was a huge hit, and served as one of our largest fundraisers for our kitchen renovation. As always, we thank all of those who were involved in the planning, organization, and donation of prizes, as well as all of our sponsors.
