About Library

The Smt. Gouramma B. Ankalkoti Govt.First Grade College's Library (GFGC library Shiggaon) is one of the oldest college libraries in the district with a rich collection of books capable of meeting the information needs of students and faculties was established along with the inception of the college (2008). The library functions as the heart of the institution with a well lighted spacious building, The library building has a carpet area of 5400 Sq. Feet with a sitting capacity of more than 70 students at a time. With a limited number of books, the college library stocks have grown by Leaps and Bounds, now the library has more than 13450 collections of books. Along with this, a good number of periodicals like newspapers, journals and magazines are subscribed to meet the information needs of its clientele. The entire library is automated. Each book has its unique barcode, this allows for easy tracking of books in the library and its distribution to the students and staff members. The library (gfgclibraryshiggaon) offers web-based library and information services to its users.  They can access library services from anywhere without physically visiting the library.
