The flag of the GFA boasts three distinct colors: garnet, black, and white, those of the University of South Carolina. A white inverted chevron "V" divides the flag, representing vexillology and derived from flags of the various North American flag associations. In the top center a palmetto tree is depicted, a distinctly South Carolinian symbol inspired by the State Flag. The palmetto stands unwavering in the black Carolina night sky as four stars shine above. These are the four pillars of this organization: unite, collaborate, promote, and cultivate. The flag is officially described in the GFA Constitution Chapter 2 Section 2.01.
