The AP Calculus AB exam is worth 108 points. The multiple choice portion contains 45 questions; 30 no-calculator questions and 15 calculator-active questions. There are six free response questions (FRQs) on the AP Calculus AB exam and each one is worth 9 points for a total of 54 points available on just the FRQs; half the exam! The cut-off to get a top score of 5 on the exam is typically in the mid 50s. If students can do well on the FRQs, they put themselves in a great position to earn a 4 or 5 on the exam and earn college credit.
The purpose of Get Your FRQ On is to provide access to my worked out solutions to various AP Calculus AB Free Response Questions (FRQ). The focus of Get Your FRQ On is two-fold. Obviously, the site and the videos are intended to illustrate the calculus concepts required to solve the FRQs. But they will also highlight the thinking and problem solving required while solving a FRQ in an effort to make students more comfortable with the FRQs during the AP Calculus AB exam.
