Ninja Air Fryer Controls
Cooking programs
•1 can of drained and dried Chickpeas
•½ tsp salt
•1 tsp smoked paprika
•½ tsp cayenne pepper
•1 tbs olive oil
Mix together until chickpeas coated
Cook at 180C 10-12 minutes shaking once or twice
Alternative: 2 tsp sugar, ½ tsp ground cinnamon, pinch of salt, oil
•20g butter softened
•2 slices sourdough or other bread
•½ tsp English mustard
•50g grated mature cheddar or gruyère
•1 tbsp chopped chives(optional)
•1 thick slice of ham
Set the air fryer to 190C. Butter the slices of bread on one side each (or spritz with oil), then combine the remaining butter with the mustard, cheese and chives, if using. Season with black pepper.
Spread the cheese mixture over the plain sides of the bread, then sandwich the ham between the two slices so the buttered sides are facing out. Air-fry for 12 mins, turning once until golden and crunchy on the outside, and the cheese has melted in the middle.

Mix sultanas, mixed peel and soft brown sugar in a bowl. The ingredients are in the ratio

1 tbs mixed peel
1 tbs soft brown sugar
Cut a square of pre-rolled puff pastry (about 12cm x 12cm)
Put filling in the middle of the square (Step 4)
Bring the corners to the middle (Step C)
Bring the new corners to the middle (Step D)
Turn over and flatten (Step 5)
Cut two grooves in the top of each cake
Egg wash and sprinkle sugar (opt.)
Bake on Bake at 180C for about 12 mins
Variations
Savoury cheese and chorizo
Replace the filling with grated cheese and finely chopped chorizo. Bind, if necessary with a little butter ot spread.
Also could replace the chorizo with ham or onion or chopped gherkin
Chopped apple, sugar and cinnamon
Marinade for 800g chicken
•2 garlic clove, crushed
•Chilli powder or chilli (optional)
•4 tbsp lemon juice
•4 tbsp olive oil
•1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper
•handful of fresh herbs such as parsley, basil or coriander, finely chopped
•4 chicken thighs (bone in) marinaded for 2 - 3 hours
Method
•Put marinated chicken in the basket of your air fryer and cook, skin-side down, for 10 mins at 180C.
•Turn over and cook for a further 15 -20 mins until cooked through and the skin is crispy.
•Check the temperature in the middle of the thickest part of the chicken is more than 74C. If not, cook longer
•Remove from the air fryer immediately to stop the skin from softening.
Make a collection of vegetables you like that will roast. It might include a few from: peppers, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onion, celery, broccoli, squash, swede, cherry tomatoes* etc.
Cut them into cubes or pieces of between 1 - 2 cm
Season with salt, pepper or a spice mix like mediterranean or jerk and spritz it or lightly coat it with oil
Cook on Roast for 20min at 180C
*Some prefer to add soft vegetables, like cherry tomatoes, after 10 minutes to keep them firmer.
•Cook for 15 minutes at 120C (setting is Bake)
•Put immediately into cold water for 10 minutes to prevent them from continuing to cook.
•Thinly slice fruit
•Dehydrate for 6 hours at 60C using the Dehydrate setting
•You can also dehydrate herbs, vegetables and meat though times and temperature may vary
Other Air Fryers may have different controls and recommend different temperature and cooking times

Choose 1 or 2 (for left or right basket
Choose Max crisp, Air fry, Roast, Reheat, Dehydrate or Bake (see later or recipe)

If you want a different cooking programme / temperature / time for the other basket press 2 or 1 and repeat as above from 3 to 5 for basket 2 or 1
If you want exactly the same cooking programme for the other basket press MATCH
If you want the two baskets to finish at the same time press SYNC
Press START
Recipe timings are not exact. It is often a good idea to pull the basket out halfway through and towards the end to check if the dish is ready
For things like chips, giving the basket a shake once or twice during cooking helps the chips to cook evenly.
Max Crisp (240°C / 450°F)
Best for: Extra crispy results in less time.
• Frozen fries or hash browns
• Chicken wings or drumsticks
• Breaded fish or prawns
• Frozen nuggets or mozzarella sticks
Tip: Keep an eye on food, as it cooks much faster than other settings.
Air Fry (200°C / 390°F)
Best for: Crispy foods without deep frying.
• Chips/fries (Shake halfway for even crisping)
• Chicken wings, nuggets, or tenders
• Fish fingers, breaded fish, or prawns
• Vegetables (e.g., broccoli, Brussels sprouts,
cauliflower)
Tip: Lightly coat food in oil or cooking spray for extra crispiness.
Roast (170-200°C / 340-390°F)
Best for: Cooking meats and vegetables at a steady heat.
• Whole chicken or chicken breasts
• Roast beef, pork, or lamb
• Vegetables (e.g., roast potatoes, carrots, squash)
• Stuffed peppers or mushrooms
Tip: Use foil or a roasting rack for juicier meats
Bake (160-180°C / 320-360°F)
• Muffins, cupcakes, or brownies
• Cookies (Space them out to avoid spreading)
• Mini pizzas
• Bread rolls or flatbreads
Tip: Use an oven-safe dish for better results when bakin
Reheat (150-170°C / 300-340°F)
Best for: Reviving leftovers without making them soggy.
• Pizza (restores crisp crust)
• Chips/fries (shake halfway through)
• Fried chicken
• Pies or pastries
Tip: Lower temperatures help avoid overcooking.
Dehydrate (55-70°C / 130-160°F)
Best for: Drying fruit, herbs, and making snacks.
• Apple, banana, mango slices
• Homemade beef jerky
• Kale chips or dried herbs
• Dried citrus slices for tea or cocktails
Tip: Slice food thin and evenly for consistent drying.
