Jeanette Cowles (formally Davis) created the whodunnit fundraiser event in 2019 out of a need to raise funding for local nonprofit Canyon Del Oro Project Graduation (as a volunteer), whose donations had steadily declined. With a passion for community support and creative fundraising, her five whodunnit events raised over $20,000 to help provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free celebration for graduating seniors.
After retiring from volunteering for Project Graduation, her fundraiser has found a new home with Friends of the Pima County Public Library. She is excited to continue this unique and immersive fundraising experience to raise vital funds and awareness for The Pima Friends mission of promoting literacy, lifelong learning, and access to resources throughout Pima County.
Each event takes a full year to develop and execute, from crafting an original mystery storyline and designing interactive elements to coordinating logistics, securing sponsorships, and promoting the event. This meticulous planning ensures a one-of-a-kind experience that maximizes engagement, fundraising success, and community impact.
