Rules and Guidelines for all awards
All entries are subject to review by the Awards Committee. All candidates for awards shall cooperate with the Awards Committee with any request for appropriate supporting material to substantiate the application; failure on the part of any application to promptly and fully cooperate with the Awards Committee in connection with its review may result in disqualification of the award.
Each candidate for an award must a member in good standing with the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS®.
All submissions for awards must be filled out completely and have the appropriate documentation, if required. Submissions for REALTOR® of the Year and Rookie of Year are available from October 1 to November 15. Submission for all other awards are available January 1 to November 15, 2024.
Submission deadline is November 15 for all awards.
The Awards Committee shall meet to review all nominations no later than November 30 of each year.
Not all awards shall be presented every year, but only when deemed appropriate in order to maintain the "elite" status awards should hold.
Names will be omitted from all submissions when the committee reviews the nominations.
Staff may make nominations and staff input is critical.
The awards will be presented to the winners at the January membership meeting, or other meeting as may be available.
Deadlines are firm and not extended.
REALTOR of the Year
The purpose of the REALTOR® of the Year program is to recognize the active member of the local board who has provided outstanding service to his/her profession and his community during the year as well as his/her career. As a sidelight of the program, each REALTOR® of the Year becomes a candidate in the State Association's competition. The State winner will be recognized nationally.

Rookie of the Year - Submitted by the BIC Only
The Rookie of the Year award recognizes the achievements and professionalism of our newcomers to the association within their first 2 years of sales whose enthusiasm and professionalism show a large impact on our organization’s mission statement and the industry in general.
It is our goal that such recognition will foster interest in our organization, while applauding the efforts of new members in achieving goals and paving the way for future excellence in the industry.
Selection will be based on the criteria below:
Broker in Charge submission via online form. **BIC cannot recommend more than 2 Rookies per office
Minimum of 4 completed individual transactions within the first 24 months.
Enthusiasm for a new career and willingness to work with the Broker and team leaders to meet requirements and expectations in new endeavors.
Successful completion of all required Post-Licensing Courses.
Interest and involvement in the REALTOR® associations, with recognition of the important role these organizations play in professional development, as well as a desire to share talents and expertise with fellow professionals through association work.
Indication of desire to grow professionally by taking advantage of educational opportunities, over and beyond requirements for licensing, which may include special designations or advanced training.
Involvement in community activities, indicated by service on local committees, in charitable organizations, or through other civic and professional organizations, to include our own JBOR committee involvement.

REALTORS Choice Award
The REALTOR’S® Choice Award recognizes a REALTOR® with whom members love to work with.
Selection will be based on the criteria below:
1. The member is responsive, kind, and considerate when working with others.
2. The member practices the Golden Rule, is trustworthy and ethical.
3. Expends the extra effort to make the transaction as smooth as possible for all parties.
4. This is a member you want to work with over and over again.
5. Specific examples must be provided with the nomination.
6. This award shall not necessarily be presented every year, but only when deemed appropriate in order to maintain the "elite" status it should hold.
7. Members submitted for the “Better Together” recognition monthly will automatically be submitted for this award.
8. The committee will review all submissions and select their top three (3). All nominations will be submitted for the membership to vote. The top three (3) from the membership will then be submitted to the committee and their final selection will be made. This allows for checks and balance of the selection of this recipient.
Business Partner of the Year
The Business Partner of the Year Award recognizes a Business Partner who has provided outstanding service to the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS®, their profession, and their community. Selection will be based on the criteria below:
1. A minimum of two (2) years as a JBOR Business Partner.
2. Their interests and involvement are in helping REALTORS® serve the needs of buyers and sellers.
3. Demonstrate high principles, practicing the Golden Rule with customers, competitors, and JBOR members.
4. Serving JBOR at meetings, committees, social and other activities.
5. Recognized as an industry leader, providing outstanding support for the real estate community.
6. This award shall not necessarily be presented every year, but only when deemed appropriate in order to maintain the "elite" status it should hold.
Good Neighbor Award
The Good Neighbor Award recognizes and honors a REALTOR® who brings credit to their profession with extraordinary commitments to volunteer work that has helped their community to be a better place to live. Award winners will be considered for submission to State and National Good Neighbor Awards.
Selection will be based on the criteria below:
1. Depth of contribution; the time and vision given by the REALTOR®.
2. Impact of the contribution; the results realized by the community
3. Broadness of impact; how many people benefited from the activity.
4. How the activity demonstrated leadership and initiative.
5. Was the REALTOR® a role model for other REALTORS®.
6. In depth, specific descriptions and examples of the REALTOR®’S contributions must accompany the nomination.
7. This award shall not necessarily be presented every year, but only when deemed appropriate in order to maintain the "elite" status it should hold.
Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year will be awarded to a volunteer who goes above and beyond when participating in JBOR functions and demonstrates exceptional and unselfish volunteer work supporting the mission of the association. Selection will be based on the criteria below:
1. Current member or business partner for at least one (1) year.
2. Give their all with all activities, supporting the mission of the association and its members.
3. Encourages others while having fun and making every event a success.
4. This award shall not necessarily be presented every year, but only when deemed appropriate in order to maintain the "elite" status it should hold.
Better Together Monthly Recognition
REALTOR® members may nominate other REALTORS® for the Better Together Monthly Recognition award. The criteria are the same as REALTORS® Choice Award, but recognized every month. The recipient will be need be recognized on the JBOR Facebook, Instagram, website, and MLS home page with their photo and a tagline, if desired. All nominees will be considered for the annual REALTOR’S® Choice Award.
