More About Me!
Growing up, I'd always been told how dramatic and photogenic I was. Being a creative yet active child I partook in several clubs throughout my childhood including netball, choir, chess club and the running team. I'm a person who likes to experiment and try things, so when I got the chance to audition for my local theatre group for a project they were hosting, I got the role! During the learning of the choregraph and rehearsing the scenes, being part of group was one of the best parts because connecting with the cast allowed me to perform better and improve my synchronisation. When I act, I like to show other peoples' experience, feelings and stories and display the difficulties of peoples' lives. I feel as the audience will feel more seen and accepted in their situations as I wish I did when I was younger. After this experience, I finalised my decision and decided to enter performing arts at Gloucestershire College. Since then, I have been able to open up and work with other aspiring actors in various projects.
At the beginning of my journey at Gloucestershire College, I studied the acting method of Stanislavsky, this allowed me to improve my acting skills using a different method from which I had never been introduced to. I am open and desire to learn more about other methods of acting which allow me to continuously improve. Additionally, since starting Gloucestershire College I've developed an interest in more theatrical acting and dancing. I love putting in the effort and working within a team to create a performance in front of an audience. It's really exhilarating, especially, at the end of a show when you can the audience's reaction and emotion.
Personally, I envision my future courses allowing me to explore and further develop my passion for acting. By venturing into different genres/ styles, I am looking forward to the opportunities this course offers to build my confidence, leave my comfort zone, and develop through constructive feedback. Following from my previous education and extra-curricular activities, I have never been more eager, enthusiastic, and excited to be part of a group who flourishes by co-operating and sharing ideas. Because of my previous experiences like workshops and auditions, my goal is to become a more dynamic actor. I want the ability to confidently self-criticise and constantly improve by practising through the different methods of acting out in the world.
