Properties of Ellipse
An ellipse is a plane curve surrounding two focal points, such that for all points on the curve, the sum of the two distances to the focal points is a constant. The constant sum is the length of the major axis of the ellipse.

Another description of an ellipse is as a conic section, created from the intersection of a right circular conical surface and an inclined plane not parallel to the conical surface.
