RIDE (for a lady wheeler) — for voice, violin, and piano (2016)

Music by Dan Sedgwick, text by Marji Gere & Tamara Plummer. Libretto deals with an 1890's-era Alabama lady cyclist who experiences and transcends racial and sexual exploitation. Commissioned by the Sonad Peace Project & Keene Chamber Orchestra. Accompanying booklet designed by Marji Gere.

An ancient fable developed into chamber music theater, for three speaking instrumentalists (violin, clarinet, bassoon), who play the roles of mice, and two high voices, who observe the action from outside . Commissioned by the Dilijan Chamber Music Series of Los Angeles, CA.
