I studied art years ago, worked for a billboard company for a short while and then got side tracked by the exigencies of life.
I returned to painting in 2019. While I have not studied directly under Mark Carder, I have been influenced by his methods of painting, a process that requires careful observation and technical skills for rendering a realistic image.
All of the still life paintings are done by setting the subject up in a shadow box under controlled lighting. The other paintings are done based on multiple photos taken of the subject matter.
