Collaboration

1. We have collaborated with Dr. Franck Bourrier from Institute of Geoscience and Environment (IGE), Grenoble Alpes University, France to develop a novel rockfall propagation model using the rigid body approach in Siconos software. This collaboration is a part of the Ph.D. work of Mr. Raj Kiran Dhiman, who is working on the rockfall hazard assessment of Manikaran area, where, one major rockfall disaster occurred in August 2015, destroying the six-story Gurudwara building, killing nearly 10 people, and injuring 15 people sleeping in the Gurudwara’s Sarai.

2. We have collaborated with Prof. Simon Klemperer at Department of Geophysics, Stanford University, USA. This collaboration is a part of Ph.D work of Mr. Shubham Chaudhary, who is working to gain a deeper understanding of the Himalayan region through the study of its geothermal systems.
