iFly Physics Lab

What better way to learn about physics than at iFly Indoor Skydiving? Students got to see a demonstration of how the wind tunnels work, learn how to calculate the speed of the wind to keep themselves afloat in the tunnel, and get a one-on-one skydiving session with an iFly instructor!

Engineering Day at Knott's Berry Farm

GeoTech students take an annual trip to Knott's Berry Farm for Engineering Day. Getting the chance to hear about engineering roller coasters for a living and testing them out? Fun day all around!

California Science Center

For their space ethics project, 11th graders visited the California Science Center in Los Angeles to watch the Journey to Space IMAX and learn from the Endeavor shuttle exhibit.

Fleet Science Center

GeoTech 10th graders explored the various exhibits at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park, participated in a virtual reality experience, and learned about habitat conservation by watching the Great Bear Rainforest IMAX film.

Fleet Week Innovation Zone

Every fall, GeoTech students attend this event to participate in a wide variety of STEM-based activities. Featuring drones, virtual reality and hands on interactive displays, tours of military vessels, and much more, Fleet Week focuses on new and emerging technologies to encourage participation in STEM education and career programs.

Electrical Training Institute

Students participated in a job shadow with IBEW Local 569 electricians on pipe bending and an electrical circuit.

Palm Springs Windmill Tour

Students participated in a tour of the Palm Springs Windmills that make all of the electric energy for Cochella Valley

HP Facility Tour

Students toured through the HP 3D Research & Development lab and participated in a Q&A with the engineers.

Taylor Guitar Factory Tour

Students had a tour through the Taylor Guitar Manufacturing facility to learn about the design, development, and creation of a product.
