Short Bio :
I am Dr. Georgin Jacob, a Lead Research Scientist in the Advanced Development team at Carl Zeiss India, where I work on building next‑generation AI technologies for ophthalmology. My work centers on developing clinically meaningful algorithms for the early detection and management of glaucoma, in close collaboration with leading eye‑care institutions.
I completed my Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, under the mentorship of Prof. S. P. Arun. Before entering the world of neuroscience, I trained as an engineer—earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in Signal Processing.
My passion lies in understanding how the brain solves the incredibly complex problem of vision. I am driven by the belief that integrating insights from neuroscience with advances in artificial intelligence can deepen our understanding of both biological and artificial intelligence—and ultimately lead to transformative technologies in healthcare.
