State Records:
Q: Who keeps and posts state records?
A: Georgia State records are maintained by Siraj Saeed (georgia@usapowerlifting.com). After he receives the completed online state record claim form, the records will be verified, then updated.
Q: What are the requirements to set a state record?
A: Any current USA Powerlifting member can set a state record for the state that he/she has listed as their state of residence on their current USA Powerlifting card. Other requirements include filling out the state record claim form and submitting it. If a Georgia resident sets/breaks a Georgia record outside of Georgia, please have the meet director e-mail a copy of the results to Josh Rohr for verification purposes.
Q: How can I contact my state chair for more information regarding state records?
A: Visit the "Contact Us" Section for the contact info of the State Chair and State Record Keeper.
Q: Why am I seeing a M2b record also in the M2a or M1 category?
A: If you exceed a record in an older age category (or younger for your Jr and below), you are credited for the additional age category. From the IPF Rulebook:
Men’s and Women’s 50-59 records exceeding those gained in the 40-49 age group will be included in the 40-49 category. Men’s and Women’s 60-69 records exceeding those gained in the 50-59 age group will be included in the 50-59 category. Men’s and Women’s 70+ records exceeding those gained in the 60-69 age group will be included in the 60-69 category. Likewise Sub-Junior 14- 18 records exceeding those gained in the Junior 19-23 age group will be included in this group.
