Teaching

My aim in teaching philosophy is to help students see the value of examining difficult questions carefully. I try to create a conversational classroom in which students work to understand unfamiliar views, test their own commitments, and develop positions they can defend. 

At UH Mānoa, I developed and continue to teach PHIL 326, the university’s first course in AI ethics.
