George Socolow (b. 2012) is a young composer and pianist studying with Stefano Greco, Ronn Yedidia and Richard Danielpour. His works explore themes of heartbreak, our connection with nature, and who we truly are as humans. Socolow’s works have been performed by ensembles and orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, the Memphis Youth Symphony, members of The Knights, members of the International Contemporary Ensemble, members of the New York Youth Symphony, The Dolphins Quartet, and several other chamber ensembles, orchestras, and instrumentalists across the US and Europe.
As a pianist, he has performed solo recitals with repertoire spanning works by composers over five centuries, from works in the standard repertoire by Bach, Chopin and Franck to works by living composers such as Richard Danielpour, Ronn Yedidia, Morgan Moss, as well as several of his original solo piano works. He has also performed as a collaborative pianist with violinist Colin Jacobsen and members of The Knights, and has been featured on radio stations such as WQXR.
Socolow has upcoming performances this summer with members of The Knights and the Juilliard SummerComp Ensemble, and his debut album as a composer/pianist "OLD SOUL," will be released in the fall by Supertrain Records.
