Welcome to my website! My name is George Harkins, Sr, and I am a 48-year-old machinist with over 25 years of experience. I attended tool and die trade school in the 90s, and since then, I have been a jack of all trades, fixing everything in my life out of necessity. Despite the challenges that life has thrown my way, I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had and for the blessings that I have received.
One of my passions is the Linux operating system, which I fell in love with in the 90s. Back then, you had to hand configure grub boot manager and MySQL to make a home server, and I loved the challenge of making it work. I still use Linux to this day and can't stand Winders. My love for technology and problem-solving has always been a big part of who I am.
In 2009, I tried starting a company, but unfortunately, it failed due to personal reasons. Despite the setbacks, I have always done everything I can to provide for my family, even during the toughest times. I have faced many challenges, including financial struggles, foreclosure on my house, and health issues. In 2014, I was given a better job opportunity that allowed me to keep my house just one week before the court date. Two years later, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin lymphoma and later found out that I had Reno cell on one of my kidneys, which was successfully removed after chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Despite all of this, I remain optimistic and grateful for the blessings in my life. My faith in Jesus Christ has been a guiding force throughout my life, and I know that I am always in good hands with the Lord. Today, the manufacturing industry in the USA has come to a complete halt compared to what it was like in the 90s. I never would have imagined that the trade that I love would be so impacted, but I am grateful for the experiences that I have had and the skills that I have learned.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website, and I hope that my story can inspire you to choose wisely and trust in the blessings that life has to offer. God bless us all!
