Gotta love this song. he sounds fantastic and the guitar solo in the beginning is amazing. Bascially it's about a guy whose wife is so fed up with fighting she tells him to give everything from their marriage away, she doesn't even wanna argue over it. I gotta say if she's crazy enough to throw out a diamond, you are definitely crazy for giving away George... ;)

Maybe captain means George isn't getting any younger, that's why he can't give it away; he's too old. Either that, or he just couldn't think of anything else to say. I love how some people post the obvious meanings to a song. Does this one really need an explanation? No offense, Sambee.

It's a pretty sad song. The women in his life are just able to throw those items back at him and say "just give it away." The whole phrase makes it sound so easy. Well yeah, I'm sure the character in the song is very capable of getting rid of those things, but that emotional experience has stopped being an experience; it's an object of its own. He can go on through life and leave it all behind, but he will always carry his broken heart.

this song was written by Jamey Johnson, and is meant to be sung totally different than the way George Strait sang it. It sounds all happy and carefree when George sings it. But when Jamey Johnson sings it, he sings it the right way, search for it on youtube. Jamey said in an interview that he wrote this song when his wife left him because Jamey was an alcoholic and head deep in a cocaine addiction. Story goes before she left, Jamey asks her "well what the hell do you want me to do with all this shit I bought you?" she replies, "just give it away, i dont want any of it anymore". Now that brings new meaning to the song and he sings it the right way. Jamey is a storyteller and the way country music should be. Not a pretty face like George Strait who buys somebody elses story because he can and makes millions off of it. Fuck George Strait, he aint country. Yeah I said it.

One man's lovesick blues is another man's unfathomable devastation. The Aaron Barker-penned lyrics to 1988's "Baby Blue" read like a nostalgic breakup song: Its narrator remembers a life-changing relationship with a girl who made a big impact in a criminally short time. ("She always held it deep inside, but somehow I always knew/She'd go away when the grass turned green and the sky turned baby blue.") But given it was released two years after the death of Strait's 13-year-old daughter from a car accident, many believe the singer's own interpretation of the ballad hits closer (and harder) to home.

So I'm still right here where she left me

Along with all the other things

She don't care about anymore

Mmmm, like that picture from our honeymoon

That night in Frisco Bay

She said, give it away

Well, I can't give it away

And that big four-poster king-size bed

Where all our love was made

She said, give it away

Well, I can't give it away

Former premier Barry O'Farrell paid a significant political price for caving into the Shooters and Fishers Party by agreeing to hunting in national parks. It will be fascinating to see just how much Baird is prepared to give away to secure Nile's support, and how effective Nile is in securing such concessions. 0852c4b9a8
