GeoProof Camera Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 September 2026

GeoProof Camera is designed to create location-stamped photos on the user's device.

Camera and photos

The app uses the camera only when the user is using the capture screen. Photos are saved to the device in the Pictures/GeoProof Camera folder.

Location

The app requests foreground precise location so it can display and stamp coordinates, GPS accuracy, altitude and related location information on photos. The app does not request or use background location.

Address lookup

When available, the app may use the device's geocoding service to convert coordinates into a readable address. This lookup may require a network connection and may be processed by the device or geocoding service provider.

Project names and notes

Project, site or school names and notes entered by the user are used only to label photos in this version and are not uploaded to a developer-operated server.

Data storage and sharing

This version does not include developer-operated accounts, cloud backup, analytics or advertising. Photos, coordinates, project names and notes are stored locally on the user's device except for any temporary processing performed by the device geocoding service for address lookup.

Permissions

Camera permission is used to take photos. Foreground location permission is used for location stamps. The app does not request background location.

Changes

If a future version adds advertising, analytics, cloud services or other data processing, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before release.
