It is the first event of its kind, at the interface of symplectic geometry and astrodynamics, with the aim to discuss recent developments at the intersection of the two fields, identify future research alleys and potential ground for collaboration, and encourage more ongoing conversation between the two communities.
Spanning over three days, the workshop will consist in 6 plenary talks, 15-20 research talks, and a poster session for young researchers. We expect around 40 attendees, and plan on holding a social dinner in Guildford on the evening of the second day. Interested participants can also choose to stay on the morning of Thursday, June 11 for a guided tour of the SSTL (Surrey Satellite Technology LTD) facilities, to see first-hand how satellites are being built for specific missions.
Abstracts for the research talks and poster session are very welcome, on any topic relating to astrodynamics, symplectic/differential geometry, Hamiltonian dynamics, geometric mechanics, geometric integrators, geometric optimal control, &c., and can be submitted at Registration.
