Our team has been working tirelessly and progressively since our first meeting held on September 4th, 20202 the first day of class. We met each other online, and exchanged messages via Facebook. We still have never actually met face-to-face! I think it is very cool but also ironic that we have built a virtual exploration based mobile application, while working entirely in a virtual environment and meeting with technologies from home. It was difficult at times, but in the end it was very rewarding and everyone is happy with the final result.
Our team has built an application that notifies people if they walk into a region, area, or hot-spot. Our application will send someone a push notification if there is an important landmark within your proximity. The convenience of having the application running in the background allows for us to only send important notifications if you are within a desired region. This is all accomplished through a popular marketing term called geofencing. We only do this with someones permission, because we respect everyones privacy and want to follow the best standards that Android Studio, Google, and the online community has established.
