Geofencing Example Privacy Policy

How we collect location data

We only collect location data from the app using Android's Geofencing API. We don't track the specific location of any user at any given point. We don't collect and don't have access to any kind of location information other than the time a user enters or exits a geofencing region. Users decide at any given time whether to register or unregister from a geofencing region. If there are no registered geofence regions the app doesn't track location at all.

How we use location data

We use location data along with Android's geofencing API to check the time a user either enters or exits the geofencing regions for which they are registered. When users register for a geofencing region, the app will record the time they enter or exit that region and send the data to a server. The data only includes the geofencing region involved, the time in which the event happened, and the type of event (enter or exit). At the moment, no data related to specific users is being kept. Only a list of events with the 3 previously mentioned data points.

The sole purpose of this app is to determine the viability of using the geofencing API to record the time a user enters or exits a construction site. The app is not intended to be released to the general public, only to a small number of internal testers.

How we share location data

The data is not shared with third parties of any kind. Only our team of developers will have access to the data. Our team will be the one responsible for determining whether the basic app functionality is viable for a more robust product in the future. This is only a test application, and not meant to be used by the general public.
