CREATE Lab arranged summer workshop 2023 on Climate Adaptive Infrastructure. 12 students from different school participated in that workshop. Introduction to civil engineering, real world problem solving, competition and interactive events were arranged.

CREATE Lab participated in Solid Waste Design Competition organized by SWANA and was awarded 3rd place. SWANA’s International Solid Waste Design Competition (SWDC) is a student team competition to solve “real world” problems faced by solid waste professional.

CREATE Lab has frequent field visits on Terry road and US 49 road for the inspection of the slope condition.  Inclinometer test, ERI, soil sample collection, sensor data collection were conducted in this field work.

CREATE Lab of JSU attended "Magnolia" chapter of SWANA which took place at the Natchez Convention Centre in historic downtown, Natchez, MS . The team presented their current work on Waste Management at the conference.

Monthly luncheon of Mississippi Section was held at Jackson to discuss the current state of dams in Mississippi. William McKercher, chief of the Dam Safety Division was the speaker for this event.

CREATE Lab attended the Mississippi section of ASCE meeting in Vicksburg. Presentation on expansive clays and interactive sessions were held.

In conjunction with the NSF CAREER Award, Dr. Khan's Geotechnical Research and Development at JSU  hosted students, teachers, and professionals at a workshop (camp) during the 2022 summer.
