ASSOCIATION HALIOTIS
The non-profit Haliotis Association founded in 2006, is an active and reference association for the enhancement, use, study, research in the field of scientific culture in general and geological culture in the territory of Madonie Geopark in particular. It is located in the Municipality of Petralia Sottana and makes use of collaborative relationships with the university faculties that study this territory, with particular regard to geology. Haliotis has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Madonie Park Authority for the realization of tourist enjoyment, environmental education and scientific dissemination activities with reference to the geological-environmental heritage and any anthropological implications of the Madonie Park area, to promote and develop the “Madonie Geopark”. Stowarzyszenie Gmin Geopark Świętokrzyski
The Holy Cross Mountains Geopark (HCMG)is an aspiring UNESCO Global Geopark established in 2003 and situated in central Poland. It has a geo education center. The Centre of Geoeducation includes: · The permanent exhibition „Chronos” · An unique 5D Cinema - The virtual cave In the geopark, there is a botanical garden and mining caves, mining areas. HCGM hosts guided tours, camps, geo education workshops, climate change training, seminars, conferences. The main activities of HCGM is shaped on *Geology *Biology *geography *nature *flora&fauna *heritage *ecology *Geotourism *Geodiversity The object is the only one in Europe, which posses geological exposure on its territory. It shows upper Devonian limestones, with a natural karst cave and numerous fossils of the Devonian sea. Additionally, from the upper paths, tourist can admire the extensive, panoramic view of the mountain ranges surrounding the city, including the main range called Łysogórski to preserve, protect, and present nature
UŞAK ŞEFKAT ORTAOKULU
UŞAK ŞEFKAT ORTAOKULU(USO)is a secondary school situated in the UNEASCO KULA GEOPARK AREA. There are 35 teachers and 597 students in the school. The aim of the USO: In line with the Basic Objectives of National Education, to provide an education service suitable for the student's abilities, to reveal their talents that will meet their social, cultural, and economic needs in the most effective way, to direct them to the future by raising happy, peaceful, successful and beneficial individuals. USO wants to use the potential of the UNESCO KULA GEOPARK for education.
Geoparks are protected areas and the best places to observe and teach climate changes. In this direction USO efforts to integrate geopark to the curriculum as open-air laboratories.USO also active in *the ecological awareness *new technologies and Robotics *inclusion of disadvantaged pupils *developing 21st-century skills of pupils USO has an important role to prepare 11-15 years old students for the next education level.
Escola Básica e Secundária da Calheta
Escola Básica e Secundária da Calheta is located in the city of Calheta, on the island of Soe Jorge in the Azores archipelago. As in all the Azores archipelago, the population of Calheta has also decreased, and for this reason, many primary schools have been closed and the number of students in schools has decreased. The school has 3 different buildings and there are 320 students (6-12 years old) and 55 teachers in the school. There is a library on the first floor of the three-storey main building. On the top floor, there is a computer lab and various laboratories. There are classrooms on the 2nd floor, and the new buildings include classrooms, gym, fight room, exercise room, auditorium and two computer rooms. The municipality of Calheta maintains its economy, especially with cattle farms used in milk production, which is used in cheese production.
