Privacy Policy

Geo Logger ("we", "our", "the app") is a geography tracking and quiz app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password, and display name. This is used solely for authentication and identifying your profile within the app. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.

2. User-Provided Data

The app allows you to log countries visited, mountain climbs, alpine peak climbs, and quiz scores. This data is provided voluntarily by you and may include dates, notes, and other details you choose to enter.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in two places:

- On your device - for offline access and caching.

- Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) - to sync your data across sessions and to power features like the quiz leaderboard.

Firebase infrastructure is hosted by Google and subject to Google's privacy practices (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).

4. What We Do NOT Collect

- Device location (GPS) data

- Contacts, photos, or files

- Analytics or usage tracking

- Advertising identifiers

5. Third-Party Services

The only third-party service used is Google Firebase (for authentication and data storage). We do not integrate any advertising, analytics, or crash reporting services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Quiz scores and display names may be visible to other users on the in-app leaderboard.

7. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Upon request, all data will be removed from our systems.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
