I'm a classically-trained calligrapher, graphic designer and botanical illustrator based in Boston. I've been practicing calligraphy for over 15 years, training with Julian Waters and Ward Dunham, among others. I specialize in Italic, Copperplate and Uncial hands, and more recently began offering Spencerian and modern script, too.
I spend a lot of time around vegetables in my day job working with farmers. My illustration work is at the sweet spot between my background in agriculture and botany, and my training in classical calligraphy. I love all leaves, fruits, flowers, and roots, but have a particular fondness for culinary herbs. My illustrations were recently featured in "The Farmer's Market Cookbook" by Julia Shanks and Brett Grohsgal.
When I'm not practicing new styles of calligraphy, you can find me working in my garden, walking every street in my neighborhood, reading about New England's history and ecology, or volunteering with Black and Pink Boston. Drop me a note if you're interested in a custom commission, either botanical illustration or calligraphic lettering for all occasions.
