Sensory processing issues have a significant impact on our young students. An estimated 5-17% of the general population experience sensory processing issues and that number rises to as much as 45-96% in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and premature/high risk infants. As we are seeing more of these issues begin impacting our 3-6 year old population it was a perfect topic for our pre-k and kindergarten teachers to learn more about during a network meeting.
A day of learning turned into an opportunity to implement their learning into their own classroom and discover how providing different materials impact a child's development.
