If you want a lightweight, high-temperature resistant cap for your Cadillac's windshield washer system that fits 2016–2018 models, choose Generic Washer Tank Cap; if you need a precise OE replacement for your Hyundai Azera's engine cooling circuit to maintain optimal pressure and performance, choose PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir.
• Generic Washer Tank Cap: Built from durable PC material for light weight and heat resistance, offering a straightforward tool-free swap for Cadillac owners. It is the ideal pick for those who just need a reliable seal for their wiper fluid tank without fuss.
• PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir: Designed as a direct OE replacement specifically for the Hyundai Azera, engineered to meet or exceed original performance standards for critical engine cooling. This is the clear choice for drivers prioritizing exact fitment and thermal management in their cooling system.
• Who it's for: The Generic option suits budget-conscious Cadillac owners looking for a quick fix, while the PartCatalog unit serves Hyundai enthusiasts demanding factory-level precision.
This component is strictly engineered for a very specific slice of the automotive market: owners of Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles manufactured between 2016 and 2018. If your vehicle uses the part number 13227300, this cap is designed to replace the worn-out or missing cover on your wiper washer fluid reservoir. The design philosophy here centers on practicality and material resilience rather than complex engineering. It utilizes high-quality PC (polycarbonate) materials, which immediately signals a focus on durability without adding unnecessary bulk to your engine bay.
The primary strength of this product lies in its construction and ease of use. Because it is made from PC, the cap remains light in weight while offering significant resistance to wear and tear. You do not have to worry about it becoming brittle in cold weather or warping under the heat of an engine running hot, as it is explicitly rated for high-temperature resistance. For many car owners, the biggest headache with these small plastic components is simply losing them or having them crack after a few seasons. This generic solution addresses that by promising long-lasting use in various environmental conditions.
Installation is another major selling point for this specific item. The process involves removing the old gasket cap and simply snapping the new gasket cap onto the existing gasket. This makes it a perfect candidate for DIYers who want to get the job done in minutes without crawling around with wrenches or screwdrivers. However, you should skip this product if you own any vehicle other than the specified Cadillac models or if you are looking for a heavy-duty metal cap, as this is a specialized plastic replacement designed solely for the washer fluid reservoir.

In contrast, the PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir cap targets a completely different set of mechanical needs. This is not a general-purpose accessory; it is a targeted OE (Original Equipment) replacement built exclusively for the 3.3L V6 engines found in Hyundai Azera models from 2012 through 2017. The core function here is far more critical than simply holding fluid in a tank. An engine coolant reservoir cap manages the pressure within the cooling system, preventing the coolant from boiling over and ensuring the radiator operates efficiently. If this cap fails, the consequences can range from overheating to catastrophic engine damage.
The defining characteristic of this PartCatalog unit is its commitment to meeting or exceeding original equipment standards. It is meticulously designed to match the specific requirements of the Hyundai Azera, promising a direct fit with no complications. Unlike aftermarket parts that might require filing or modification to seat correctly, this cap is engineered to slide into place seamlessly. The "no fuss" description in the specs suggests a precision manufacturing process where tolerances are tight enough to ensure a perfect seal every time. This level of specificity is non-negotiable for cooling systems, where even a minor leak can lead to significant performance issues.
This product is best suited for drivers who refuse to compromise on safety and reliability regarding their engine's thermal management. It is for the owner who wants to restore their vehicle's cooling system to its factory state without visiting a dealership. While the generic washer cap focuses on being light and tough, this cap focuses on pressure integrity and exact compatibility. You should only consider this if you drive a compatible Hyundai Azera. If you try to force this into a different make or model, the lack of universal fitment will likely result in immediate failure, making strict adherence to the fitment chart essential before purchase.
• Best for specific vehicle application: Choose Generic Washer Tank Cap for 2016–2018 Cadillac ATS/CTS; choose PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir for 2012–2017 Hyundai Azera.
• Best for material durability against elements: The Generic cap offers superior lightness and high-temperature resistance via PC materials, ideal for exterior exposure.
• Best for precision engineering and pressure control: The PartCatalog unit is engineered to OE standards, making it the only logical choice for maintaining critical cooling system pressure.
• Best for DIY installation speed: Both are tool-free, but the Generic cap is noted specifically for its simple snap-on gasket design, requiring minimal effort.
• Best for avoiding overheating risks: If your concern is engine temperature regulation, the PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir cap is the mandatory choice due to its role in the cooling circuit.
• Best for value in a specific niche: The Generic option provides a two-pack solution for the washer system, whereas the PartCatalog unit is a single, high-precision replacement for the cooling system.
• Best for environmental resilience: Both claim durability, but the Generic cap highlights resistance to wear in various conditions, while PartCatalog emphasizes performance consistency under operating stress.
• Best for bike racks context: Neither is designed for bike racks, but if you are transporting a vehicle with these caps installed, the robust nature of both ensures they stay secure during transit.
I would buy the Generic Washer Tank Cap for my 2017 Cadillac CTS because the PC material offers the perfect balance of light weight and heat resistance I need for the washer fluid tank. However, if I owned a Hyundai Azera, I would immediately reach for the PartCatalog Engine Coolant Reservoir cap. Its reputation for meeting OE standards and providing a seamless, direct fit makes it the only safe choice for managing engine pressure. In my opinion, the stakes are too high for a cooling system cap to be anything less than a precise factory match, so I prioritize the PartCatalog unit for any vehicle where engine health is on the line.
No, this cap is specifically compatible with the Cadillac ATS and CTS models from the years 2016 through 2018. It is not a universal fit for other years or models like the Escalade or XT5.
According to the specifications, installation is designed to be straightforward with no fuss or complications. It is a direct replacement that matches the original part perfectly, requiring no special tools.
No, this cap is engineered for the 3.3L V6 engines in the 2012–2017 Hyundai Azera. Using it on a different vehicle may result in improper sealing and potential engine overheating.
Both are built for durability, but the Generic Washer Tank Cap explicitly mentions high-temperature resistance and wear-resistant PC materials, making it highly suitable for the varied conditions often faced by the external washer reservoir.
