If you want a replacement lens designed for the sleek, high-performance lines of a luxury Bentley Flying Spur or Continental GT, choose Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade; if you need a rugged, direct-fit pair to restore clarity on a Honda CR-V from 2007 to 2011, choose HMqdRPPmd Pair Headlight Lens.
• Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade: Its greatest strength is restoring the original aesthetic and light transmission for luxury vehicles like the Bentley Flying Spur, but it is strictly limited to specific high-end model years (2013–2019) and requires a vehicle with those exact body lines. This pick is for owners of luxury sedans who prioritize a seamless factory look.
• HMqdRPPmd Pair Headlight Lens: It excels in being a complete, ready-to-install pair specifically engineered for the Honda CR-V (2007–2011), offering a straightforward restoration for older SUVs, though its utility stops the moment you step outside that specific vehicle lineup. This pick is for practical owners of mid-range SUVs needing a functional fix.
• The choice ultimately depends on whether your vehicle is a European luxury sedan or an American compact SUV, as these parts are not interchangeable.
The Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade is built for a very specific audience: owners of Bentley models, specifically the Flying Spur and Continental GT, spanning the model years 2013 through 2019. If you own one of these vehicles, this part addresses a common issue where the original headlight shells degrade over time, losing their transparency and reducing nighttime visibility. The design focuses heavily on preserving the vehicle's aggressive styling while ensuring that the light output remains unobstructed. It is not a generic "one-size-fits-all" cover; it is meticulously crafted to match the unique curves and body lines of these luxury cars.
This product is ideal for drivers who view their vehicle as both a daily driver and a statement piece. More importantly, it explicitly aims to protect the headlight surface from minor scratches that can accumulate over years of road use. By maintaining a clear surface, it ensures that the headlight assembly functions exactly as the manufacturer intended, preventing the dimming effect that often comes with cracked or yellowed plastic covers.
However, this part is only for those with the right vehicle. If you do not own a Bentley Flying Spur or a similar model from the 2013–2019 era, this item will not fit. It is also worth noting that the design features a black color option in the size specification, which might be a specific aesthetic choice or a standard finish for the mounting area. It installs directly without complex tools, making it accessible for a DIY approach, but the precision required means it is not a flexible solution for other makes or models. You should skip this if you drive anything other than the specified luxury vehicles, as the fitment is too specialized to be a universal backup.

The HMqdRPPmd Pair Headlight Lens targets a different demographic entirely: owners of the Honda CR-V from the 2007 through 2011 generation. These vehicles have been on the road for a long time, and the front lampshells often suffer from cracking, fogging, or impact damage that compromises safety. This product is designed to serve as a direct replacement for the front auto light shell, restoring the headlamp assembly to a state where it can function properly again. Unlike the luxury-focused alternative, this part is all about practicality and getting your vehicle back on the road safely.
What stands out here is the completeness of the package. It includes both the left and right front lampshade shells, meaning you get a full pair rather than having to source a second half separately. This is a significant convenience for anyone looking to replace damaged lenses on both sides simultaneously. The component is engineered specifically for the front auto light shell position on these older CR-Vs, ensuring that the geometry aligns correctly with the housing. It restores the ability of the headlight to project light effectively, addressing the safety concerns that arise when the original plastic becomes brittle or opaque.
This pick is perfect for the pragmatic car owner who wants a reliable, no-nonsense fix for an aging SUV. It is not about enhancing an aesthetic or adding luxury flair; it is about functionality and durability. If your CR-V is showing signs of wear on the headlights, this pair offers a straightforward path to restoration. However, if you drive a newer model or a completely different brand, this part is useless to you due to its strict compatibility with the 2007–2011 CR-V chassis.
• Best for Luxury Sedans → Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade is the only viable option for Bentley Flying Spur and Continental GT owners needing to maintain high-end aesthetics.
• Best for Mid-Range SUVs → HMqdRPPmd Pair Headlight Lens is the clear winner for Honda CR-V owners looking to replace worn-out lamps.
• Best for Complete Pairs → HMqdRPPmd includes both left and right covers in one box, whereas the Generic option focuses on the specific fitment for luxury models.
• Best for Direct Fit Installation → Both products claim direct fitment, but HMqdRPPmd is explicitly marketed as a replacement for the front auto light shell position on older vehicles.
• Best for Long-Term Visibility → Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade emphasizes enhanced nighttime safety by preventing light transmission loss on modern luxury cars.
• Best for Restoration Projects → HMqdRPPmd is designed to bring older 2007–2011 vehicles back to working order with new shells.
• Best for Scratch Protection → Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade is highlighted for its rugged construction designed to shield against minor scratches during daily driving.
• Best for Specific Model Years → Generic fits 2013–2019 models, while HMqdRPPmd fits 2007–2011 models; neither works outside these ranges.
For the vast majority of drivers asking this question, I would recommend the HMqdRPPmd Pair Headlight Lens. The reason is simple: the Honda CR-V represents a massive volume of vehicles on the road, and finding replacement parts for a 15-year-old SUV is often more critical than maintaining a luxury car where parts might still be available through dealerships. The fact that the HMqdRPPmd package includes both left and right lenses makes it a more practical, cost-effective solution for a common repair scenario. It solves a real safety problem for a widely used vehicle with a straightforward, complete kit.
In my opinion, unless you are specifically driving a 2013–2019 Bentley Flying Spur or Continental GT, the Generic Transparent Headlamp Shade is too niche to consider. Those owners likely already have access to OEM channels or specialized suppliers. For everyone else, particularly for atv owners or general car enthusiasts dealing with older, high-mileage vehicles, the HMqdRPPmd pair offers the reliability and completeness needed to get the job done. It is the safer bet for a functional upgrade that restores visibility without requiring exotic sourcing.
No, neither product is designed for ATVs. The Generic shade is for Bentley luxury sedans, and the HMqdRPPmd lens is strictly for Honda CR-Vs. Neither set of specifications matches ATV headlight requirements.
Both products are described as direct-fit replacements that install easily without the need for complex tools. They are designed to slot into the existing positions on the vehicle's front end.
You must match your vehicle's make, model, and year exactly. The Generic shade fits 2013–2019 Bentleys, while the HMqdRPPmd lens fits 2007–2011 Honda CR-Vs. If your car does not fall into these specific categories, the parts will not fit.
These items are replacement lampshade shells or covers only. They do not include bulbs or internal lighting components; they are designed to house the existing assembly and restore the outer protective layer.
