To the pioneering minds and innovative institutions shaping the future of knowledge: GenBioSTEM.com, in collaboration with cutting-edge AI research, hereby announces a groundbreaking challenge designed to revolutionize academic research and break free from outdated paradigms. We are calling upon every university and crypto group worldwide to step into the future and develop not one, but two distinct digital currencies: the Academic Coin (AC) and the Retro Academic Coin (RAC).

The mission is twofold:

1. Academic Coin (AC): Create a primary digital currency that incentivizes and rewards true research advancement from a specific launch date forward. This will be driven primarily by an integrated AI-driven assessment component analyzing research outputs (papers, datasets, inventions, etc.). Your AI should be designed with transparent criteria to evaluate novelty, rigor, potential societal benefit, reproducibility, and alignment with critical global challenges. Developers will define the launch date for their AC system.
   
   

2. Retro Academic Coin (RAC): Develop a distinct digital currency specifically for acknowledging and rewarding significant research contributions prior to your university's or group's AC launch date. You will have the flexibility to define the criteria and mechanisms for RAC allocation, considering factors such as historical citation impact, landmark discoveries, foundational work, and peer recognition. While AI may assist in identifying impactful past work, human expertise and potentially a dedicated committee will likely play a role in RAC distribution to ensure fairness and accuracy.
   
   

This challenge is not just about creating cryptocurrencies; it's about initiating a new ecosystem of research funding and recognition that honors both past achievements and future potential. Think creatively about the utility of both your AC and RAC. How will AC be distributed for ongoing advancements? How can both AC and RAC be used to fund further research within your institution and the broader landscape of innovation? Could they be exchanged for resources, equipment, or even used to support inter-university collaborations and independent investigations? Consider developing internal marketplaces or mechanisms for researchers and knowledge creators to leverage their earned coins. Explore potential linkages between AC and RAC, while ensuring the integrity of AC as the primary incentive for future work. 

To further amplify the impact, we strongly encourage universities to explore partnerships with industry, including pharmaceutical companies and other research-intensive organizations. Imagine a future where these entities develop their own complementary coins or invest in promising university AC and potentially recognize RAC, creating a dynamic and interconnected research funding landscape driven by genuine advancement and historical impact. This could lead to new funding avenues, more aligned research incentives, and a faster translation of discoveries into real-world solutions, while also acknowledging the foundational work that made these breakthroughs possible.

This is more than a competition; it's a collaborative leap towards a more equitable and impactful research future that respects the contributions of the past while boldly investing in the future. We believe that by empowering universities to develop their own innovative AC and RAC models, we will promote healthy competition, drive rapid experimentation, and ultimately identify the most effective approaches. The potential winner(s) could see their model evolve into a widely adopted standard, funding research and researchers – both for their legacy and their future endeavors – on a global scale.
