At the current momment, most genAI tools found in education, are specifically made to make teachers' lives easier, e.g., writing emails to students and parents; making and differentiating lesson plans, etc... On the student side, there are many Chatbots that promise being the best tutors ever; but research has shown, that unguided use of GenAI by students may hurt their learning. That's why we advocate safe and guided use of GenAI in classrooms and education.
Combination of YoTeach! and POE!! Please go to https://www.yochatgpt.io/ Finally a place where we can learn, teach, work and discuss generative AI TOGETHER (in groups), on any project or topic!!
Based on the content of the "Study Buddy or Influencer" report by the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training, here are two key points that support the use of YoChatGPT! in education:
Integration of GenAI into curriculum and educational practices: The report emphasizes the importance of integrating generative AI tools into school curricula and practices. Recommendation 3 (2.99-2.100) suggests monitoring current pilot programs, evaluating different approaches to using GenAI education tools in schools, and building high-quality GenAI education products based on curriculum datasets. YoChatGPT! aligns well with this recommendation as it provides a platform for exploring and collaborating with multiple LLMs in educational settings, allowing for the implementation of novel active teaching methods and personalized learning experiences.
Promoting safe and responsible use of GenAI in education: Recommendation 8 (2.105) highlights the need to safely integrate GenAI into Australian schools, universities, and TAFEs, with appropriate internal and external support and safeguards. It emphasizes realizing the benefits of GenAI for educators, staff, researchers, and students while actively mitigating risks. YoChatGPT! addresses this concern by providing a controlled environment for students and educators to interact with multiple LLMs. Its features, such as anonymous participation and the ability to create specific chatrooms for different purposes, can help implement safeguards while still allowing users to benefit from GenAI tools in education.
OpenAI and ChatGPT in not available in Hong Kong SAR China, BUT luckily.... we have POE.com! The advantage of poe.com for education are
You can have MULTIPLE LLMs to choose from - to answer your question; and this is good (it's like having multiple e-learning resources or textbooks!)
You may make your own BOT with pre-defined "characteristics" - e.g., you can check out my BOTS I've made here:
Now, the disadvantage of POE (or in fact, any public facing LLM) is that they are only single user accounts; and hence, it's not an optimal environment for learning and teaching in a teaching environment.
Therefore, if we can use YoTeach! (https://yoteachapp.com/) to share the input and output responses of POE (or other LLMs) from the active learning activities with generative AI!!
Again, since we cannot access the original ChatGPT (or GPT4), Coze not only is accessible to China, but you may add the plugins available to ChatGPT by OpenAI, like the Wolfram Alpha Plugin - please see here for to access the Bot!
Ph.D Assistant (base model GPT4 (8K) with Wolfram Alpha Plugin!)
You can make your own Bots and share them!
Apparently, you can also define workflows and agents, but I haven't tried this yet, but this would be pretty awesome.
