أولياء الأمور الكرام،
تحية طيبة وبعد...
أسأل الله أن يكون طلابنا الأعزاء واسرهم الكريمة يقضون وقتًا طيبًا تملأه البركة في الشهر الفضيل.
قام أعضاء هيئة التدريس خلال هذا الشهر بتذكير الطلبة بقيم وتعاليم الاسلام. فقد شددوا على أهمية التحلي بمكارم الأخلاق من رحمة واحترام للكبير والصغير وأثر الكلمة الطيبة في نفوس الآخرين. حيث أن فهم وإدراك هذه القيم يساعد طلابنا على تطوير وتكوين شخصية قيادية قوية. وإن تعاليم ومبادئ الإحسان والرحمة واحترام الاخرين هي جوهر قيمنا التعليمية والتي تتجسد في برنامج نجوم جيمس في الاحسان للآخرين.
كما أن من المبادئ التي لا تقل أهمية عما ذكرنا، هو التحلي بالمرونة – والتي تتمثل في قدرة الفرد على معرفة كيفية التأقلم رغم التحديات والشدائد. إننا جميعًا أحوج ما نكون الى التحلي بالمرونة للتعامل مع المعطيات الجديدة والاستثنائية والقدرة على ممارسة شعائر شهر رمضان من صلوات وصوم.
يقدر أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية جهود ودعم أولياء الأمور لتعلم أولادهم وحثهم على إنجاز المهام الدراسية الموكلة إليهم، الامر الذي من شأنه مساعدة أولادهم على إحراز التقدم وعلى الاستعداد للاختبارات المقررة هذا الفصل. كما أن ذلك سيساعد في تقييم الطالب لنهاية العام الدراسي وعند عقد الاجتماع الافتراضي بين أولياء الأمور والمعلم.
ملاحظة: نحيطكم علمًا أنه تم هذا الأسبوع إصدار تفاصيل حول اختبارات القراءة " NGRT " الخاصة بنا، يمكنكم الاطلاع عليها من خلال الملف المرفق بهذه الرسالة.
شراكة أولياء الأمور: نتطلع إلى التواصل معكم على مدار هذا الشهر، من خلال المشاركة في فعالية الإفطار الافتراضي وحملة التبرعات التي تُطلقها المدرسة خلال الشهر الفضيل. (انظر أدناه). يرجى الاستمرار في مشاركة الصور ومقاطع الفيديو الخاصة بكم، فنحن نحب مشاهدة جميع الأعمال التي يقوم بها طلابنا خلال شهر رمضان.
Dear Respected Parents,
I hope that everyone is enjoying and benefiting greatly from the peace and blessings of Ramadan.
During this month of connection, members of staff have shared reminders with students on the values at the heart of the Islamic Tradition. Reminders have been shared on kindness mercy, respect and the importance of speaking good. Understanding and internalizing these values helps our students to develop a strong leadership character. Kindness and respect are also at the heart of the GEMS Jewels of Kindness which captures the essence of our values-driven educational philosophy.
Another value that we speak to students about often is resilience – the quality of knowing how to cope in spite of challenges and setbacks. We all need to draw on this ability as we work in a new and unusual way and combine this with the extra effort of our fasting and additional prayers. The support of our parents is valued dearly as you help your sons to engage and complete the work that will support their progress and help them to prepare for their assessments this term. It will also feed in to our end-of-year reports and Term 3 virtual Parent Teacher Consultations. Specific details of our NGRT assessments have been released this week and are included along with this newsletter.
We look forward to coming together this month in our Parent Engagement Events, Virtual Iftars and Pledge to Give campaign. (Please see below). We also love to see all the work that our students are doing during this historic Ramadan so please continue to share your photos and videos so that we can stay connected.

مبارك عليكم الشهر!
ندعو الله عز وجل أن تكونوا وأسركم وأحباءكم بخير وسلامة مع بدء شهر رمضان المبارك وأن تكونوا قد تمكنتم وأبناءكم من التكيف مع الجدول الدراسي لشهر رمضان.
الحضور والغياب
أتوجه بالشكر من كافة أولياء الأمور على تشجيع أبنائهم على المواظبة والالتزام بالدراسة خلال برنامج التعليم عن بعد. نود الإشارة الى أخذ الحضور يتم خلال دروس البث المباشر، إلا أنه في حال عدم حضور الطالب للدرس المباشر فبإمكانه تسجيل حضوره بعد انتهاء الدرس على مدار 24 ساعة من خلال الرجوع الى الدروس المسجلة وإنجاز المهام الموكلة إليه. يرجى من ولي الامر إبلاغ المعلم قبل حصة الدرس المباشر بأن ابنكم سيشارك لاحقًا – حتى يقوم المعلم بتسجيل حضوره وفقًا لذلك. آملين أن يساعد ذلك الطلبة على الحفاظ على الالتزام بالحضور خلال شهر رمضان.
المسابقات الاسبوعية والفقرات الطلابية
سيواصل قسم الابتدائي خلال شهر رمضان بإقامة المسابقات والفقرات الطلابية، وسيتم تنظيمها من قبل فريق المواد الوزارية. لذا نتمنى على أولياء الأمور تحفيز أولادهم على المشاركة في هذه المسابقات.

سنقوم أنا والسيد ماثيو بمشاركة الأعمال المتميزة في كل مرحلة صفية على تطبيق دوجو كل أسبوعين. الرجاء الاطلاع على الأعمال المتميزة لكل من طلبة الصف الأول والثاني.

Ramadan Kareem!
I hope you and your child have settled into the new Ramadan timetable and the start of The Holy Month finds you all safe and well.
Attendance
Thank you for your support with ensuring very good attendance, so far, during the online learning period.
Registers for attendance are being taken during live lessons. There is a 24 hour window, after the live session airs, for pupils to view the recording and complete the related activity. Please ensure you inform the teacher prior to the live session that your child will be taking part later- and the teacher can mark them in the register accordingly.
Hopefully, this flexible approach will mean that all pupils can maintain high attendance during Ramadan.
Challenges and Assemblies
Challenges and assemblies continue during Ramadan, led by members of our Arabic Team. I encourage your son to take part in these excellent opportunities.
Star Work
Mr Matthew and I will share Star Work for different year groups every fortnight. These will be shared on Dojo. Today, Year 1 and 2 Star Work has been shared.

أولياء الأمور الكرام،
اسمحوا لنا أن أعبر عن مدى فخرنا بمشاركة وتفاعل الطلبة خلال الأسبوع الأول من شهر رمضان، وبالتزامهم بأداء المهام الدراسية بشكل متميز. مع بداية الأسبوع المقبل، سنقوم بتكريم الطلبة الذين يُتمون المهام بدقة ومستوى عالي الجودة. يرجى المواظبة على الدراسة!
استمتع أعضاء إدارة المرحلة الثانوية هذا الاسبوع في التحدث الى الطلبة ضمن فقرات طلابية منفصلة. وقد ارتأينا الاستمرار في تنظيم هذه الفقرات أسبوعيا. في فقرة اليوم، قدمت Camps International ندوة تثقيفية عن البيئة، حيث قام المتحدث بتعريف الطلبة بحقائق ونصائح مهمة لرفع مستوى الوعي لديهم حول كيفية حماية كوكب الأرض الطريقة المُثلى.
Dear Families,
We are proud of our pupils’ engagement during the first week of Ramadan. The Leadership team have seen some excellent sample of student work. Starting next week, we will start handing weekly Headteacher Award for excellent quality completed assignments. We ask our students to keep up the good work!
The Secondary leadership have enjoyed speaking to our students this week in separate class assemblies. Theses assemblies will continue to happen on a weekly basis. In today’s whole phase assembly Camps International has delivered an Eco awareness session, the host has shared important facts and tips to educate our pupils on how to better protect our mother Earth.
NGRT Assessment
· اختبارات القراءة " NGRT ":
وفقًا لمتطلبات هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية، سنقوم بتقييم كافة الطلبة من الصف الثالث وحتى الصف العاشر (3-10) من خلال استخدام اختبار GL يسمى New Group Reading Test ) NGRT) ابتداءً من يوم الأربعاء 6 مايو وحتى يوم الخميس 14 مايو. لمزيد من التفاصيل الرجاء الاطلاع على المرفقات.
· NGRT Assessments:
In line with KHDA requirement, we will now be assessing all students in Years 3 to 10 using a GL test called the New Group Reading Test (NGRT) between Wednesday 6th May and Thursday 14th May. Please find the attached letter for further details.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
أرجو ان تكونوا في أفضل حال. في عددنا اليوم سأتناول موضوع التربيّة الاخلاقيّة وأهميتها في ظل الظروف الراهنة.
مادة التربيّة الاخلاقيّة ليست كغيرها من المواد الأخرى، فقد تم تأليفها، وتخصيصها لدولة الامارات العربيّة المتحدة، حيث إنَّ الهدف الرئيسي منها تقديم منهج مبتكرٍ لتنمية الشباب من مختلف الجنسيات، من خلال تعزيز معرفتهم بالمبادئ، والقيم العالمية التي تعكس التجارب الإنسانية المشتركة. وبرزت هذه الحاجة ضمن عالم سريع التغيرات وفي ظل ما نشهده من نمو اقتصادي سريع حيث سيساعد البرنامج الشباب على استكشاف مسائل متنوعة تتعلق بالحياة اليومية، والتعلم، والاستفادة من القيم الثقافية المشتركة التي تحملها المجتمعات والثقافات المتنوعة التي تعيش في دولة الإمارات.
وتكمن أهمية التربية الأخلاقية في النقاط التاليّة:
· بناء خير فرد وخير مجتمع وخير دولة وخير حضارة إنسانية.
· تحقيق التماسك والتجانس الاجتماعي لتحقيق النهضة الاجتماعية القوية.
· تحقيق السعادة في الحياة الاجتماعية.
· بناء دولة قوية منظمة يعمل موظفوها بأمانة ونزاهة وإخلاص.
· صيانة الأجيال من تسرب الفساد إلى نفوسهم.
ويرتكز البرنامج على أربعة أساسيّات من ضمنها: الفرد، والمجتمع. وينصب في اعداد المواطن الصالح الذي يعمل الخير لنفسه ولمجتمعه من خلال المبادرة والمشاركة في الأنشطة التي تسعى إلى الارتقاء بالمجتمع وخدمته، ويساهم في إحداث تغيير بسيط سيحدث فارقاً كبيراً. لذا علينا تشجيع طلابنا وشبابنا الأعزاء بالالتزام بالتعليمات الصادرة في هذه الظروف القاهرة، والالتزام بالبيت وعدم الخروج إلا للضرورة، فهذا يعتبر واجب وطنيّ ينصب في مصلحة الوطن والأسرة.
حماكم الله تعالى وحمى الإمارات العربيّة المتحدة.
Dear Parents,
I hope you are all doing well. This week, I am going to focus on Moral Education and its importance given the current circumstances. Moral Education, unlike any other subjects, is composed specifically for the United Arab Emirates, where the main objective is to provide an innovative approach for the development of the different nationalities’ youths who are residing in the UAE, by enhancing their knowledge of global principles and values that reflect common human experiences. This need has emerged within a rapidly changing world and within the rapid economic growth, where the program will help young people to explore various issues related to daily life, learning and benefit from the shared cultural values of the diverse societies and cultures that coexist in the Emirates.
The importance of Moral Education lies within the following points:
· Building the best individual, the best society, the best state and the best human civilization
· Achieving social cohesion and harmony to achieve a strong social renaissance
· Achieving happiness in social life
· Building a strong, organized country whose employees work with honesty, integrity and loyalty
· Protecting generations from corruption
The program is based on four pillars of which the Individual and Society, which focuses on preparing good citizens who work well for themselves and their community through initiative and participation in activities that seek to advance society and its service and contribute to making a simple change that will make a big difference in the future. Therefore, we must encourage our students and youths to adhere to the instructions issued in these force majeure conditions, and to stay safe at home and not to go out except for necessities, as this is considered a national duty that is in the best interest of the country and families. May Allah Almighty protect you and the United Arab Emirates.

لقد تم في العام الدراسي الماضي إطلاق برنامج "نجوم جيمس في حسن معاملة الآخرين"، الذي يهدف إلى الإشادة بالطلبة الذين يتحلون بسلوكيات تمثل قيم الاحترام والإحسان للآخرين. كما تكمن أهمية هذا البرنامج في التأكيد على ضرورة تعليم هذه القيم للطلبة ليصبحوا مواطنين عالميين صالحيين.
At the end of last year, we launched the GEMS Jewels of Kindness program which seeks to exemplify students exhibiting core values including compassion, kindness, respect, helpfulness and empathy.
The aim of this program is to emphasize the importance of values education to help our children become better world citizens.
