I'm an evolutionary biologist who primarily studies the evolution of bacterial pathogens, and is broadly interested in how we can learn about populations from variation in their genome sequences. My undergraduate degree was in physics, and I studied philosophy for a few years before moving into the field of evolutionary biology.Â
