The Gem Den began in September 1975 by Ed Mays as a lapidary and rock shop in the back of Brian Mays’ antique shop, located at 313 Armstrong Blvd North. Within three years the entire business was transformed into a jewelry store. In 1983 it was decided to make a move to Mainstreet next to the Princess Theatre. That location was Gem Den’s home for many, many years until the fall of 2020. At that time the physical building was sold and there was big decisions to make. A new owner came into the picture and relocated the business across the street to 508 1st Ave. South. In January of 2021 Aaron Paris opened up the newly renovated building and has been proudly carrying on the store's legacy ever since.
