I thrive on exploring data, finding new insights and creating value.
My approach is to put data visualisation first, integrate different data sources, visualise KPIs and help you make more informed decisions.
These examples are a few illustrations of my previous projects. They're small, but valuable snippets to give you an idea of what's possible.

The client had multiple data sources across different systems and spreadsheets to manage company-owned plant and equipment.
Systems and data included:
Equipment booking request system
Budgets and rate models
ERP system
In-vehicle monitoring and GPS
Project equipment forecasts
External hire reports
The company was looking to improve the management and utilisation of company-owned plant and equipment.
The team was reacting to project demands and had no way to forward plan equipment requirements.
The first step was to give the business a view of their fleet and improve scheduling.
At the cornerstone of this project was an Equipment Availability Gantt (featured here). Which displayed all equipment at projects and depots including on-hire start and end dates, rates, GPS location and equipment details.
Supporting the team to become data-driven led to a greater ability to schedule and utilise company owned plant and equipment. Improving utilisation from 83% to 94%, equipment generated revenue by over 20% and supported new capital investment of over $25m.
Other work completed as a part of this project (not shown here):
Project equipment forecasting and tendering
Team KPIs
Fleet statutory compliance
Fleet financial performance
Service scheduling
Annual budgeting
The team relied on a data feed into a shared spreadsheet to calculate the value of leads, quotes and the total pipeline.
Although providing what they needed, the team didn't have the ability to explore by salesperson, service line, client or region.
As such, sales meetings lacked a sense of clarity and data-quality was poor. Salespeople didn't have a strong incentive to update the progress of their leads through the pipeline.
The client engaged Gemcutter to mock-up, scope and deliver a live, interactive sales dashboard. And give full visibility on the sales pipeline.
This enabled the senior leadership team and board to better understand upcoming work, the resulting cashflow and impact on staffing levels.
Every day, a system generated email sent last night's results to the team. Which was then loaded into a cumbersome spreadsheet to be manually formatted and reconciled for a daily KPI report.
Gemcutter automated the daily email to save into a Sharepoint folder and automatically format, integrate and reconcile data across multiple properties. Saving the team at least an hour a day and significantly improving management's access to their KPIs.
We created a mobile friendly view for the Execs while they were travelling and compared KPIs to daily budgets and forecasts.
