Context
Curriculum
I can design a language course based on goals and objectives that are set for students in each grade.
I can understand the need of curriculum planning as it allows me to prepare for upcoming lessons.
I can understand the features of curriculum as this helps me properly organise and prepare for classes.
Aims and Needs
I take into account that aims are the first and most important consideration in any teaching.
I take into account educational and cultural aims but realise that the practical aim is the most valuable one.
I take into account exactly what my pupils are expected to achieve in learning my subject.
The Role of the Language Teacher
As a teacher I can conceptualise the topic of the lesson and constantly improve my skills in teaching and managing learning.
I fully realise the degree to which I am responsible for determining the content of what is taught, and the interactional patterns that are developed between teachers and learners.
I understand the need of the humanistic approaches to language teaching that give equal attention to both the intellectual and the emotional development of the learner.
Creative Teaching
Lesson Content
- I can place current trends and practice in a wider context:
For eample I can
- I can use metaphor and analogy to make connections:
I can ask students to name all the subjects in the classroom that made of wood. Then I ask them to imagine how many trees were cut to make all these subjects. How many trees will they need to make all the books and copybooks in the classroom.
Teaching Styles
- I can switch between styles and varying pace:
The breadth of audio-visual and other resources that are employed to develop and illustrate arguments are also mentioned as important ideas to the tutors' teaching styles. This include video clips, picture books, diagrams, children's works , maps, etc. For example while working with a song we can cut it into lines and make students place them in the right order. Or I ask them to write what they imagine wile they listen to the music. So students with different learning styles are involved.
I have confidence and ability to inspire:
- I like to use ispiration quotes to motivate students.
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

I can make students feel valued:

The Learning Experience
The Learning Experience:
- I can engage students on an affective and emotional level:
- I can challenge students to engage and reflect:
Open questions is one of the methods of reflexion. At the end of the lesson the teacher can ask some questions in order to check the students' success in learning a particular topic. For instance :
