Solution that I use gives you a natural, just off the beach color. High pH levels in the skin care can sometimes give individuals an undesirable "fake" non-natural looking color. Sunless application on skin that is out of balance due to high pH levels sometimes results in what many people refer to as "orange" coloring. To prevent this from happening make sure to follow all the rules to make sure you get the most out of your spray tan.
The most important pre-tan step is to exfoliate the skin. If you do not exfoliate regularly, then please exfoliate 12-24 hours prior to your spray tanning session. This should be done at least twice before the spray tanning session. If you need to shower on the day of your session, please exfoliate at least four hours prior to your spray tan session, do not shave right before your tan.
Only use warm water to rinse your body off since many commonly used soaps, conditioners and body washes can leave a residue on the skin. This residue can act as a barrier to the sunless tanning solution. Showering and shaving immediately before the session could cause pores to open. Open pores will allow the solution to penetrate, causing a “freckled” look, most commonly seen on the chest and lower leg area.
If you need a manicure or pedicure, make sure you do this BEFORE your spray tan. Many salons use lotions and scrubs during your manicure and pedicure, those products can easily remove your spray tan due to the oils and other ingredients in them.
Day of Session
No lotions, makeups, deodorant, perfume or any other products should be used after the final shower. These products can, and more than likely will, create a barrier for the sunless tanning solution.
Please wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to the sunless session. Tight clothing will rub on the skin and could affect the overall outcome of the tan.
