I'm a Mathematics Educator at the PCTI STEM Academy in Wayne, NJ with my Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Montclair State University. I'm also a 2023 New Jersey state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching and my school's 2024 Governor's Educator of the Year.
My research interests are mathematical modeling, interdisciplinary learning, professional development for in-service teachers, and constructivist ways of engaging students in mathematics.
My current research projects surround mathematical modeling. My research team and I have supported in-service teachers through professional development as they implemented mathematical modeling in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 Applications courses. We also compiled and developed some modeling resources. Many of these resources have been shared here so other teachers can think about how they might include mathematical modeling into their own classrooms.
