GED class information for in-person students.
Attendance
Class is held Monday - Thursday 10-12
The sign in sheet will be on the table when you walk in the door. Please sign in each day you are present.
You must be in class for at least 1.5 hours per day to count as present.
If you are absent, you must make up at least 1.5 hours online to count as present. This cannot be a regular occurrence.
You are allowed FIVE absences between now and spring break. It doesn’t matter if they are excused or unexcused. If you go over 5, you will most likely be dropped.
If something changes in your life, for example, your schedule changes at work, you have a health issue or family issues, you can take a break and then when you are ready to come back, contact your instructor.
Phones
In general, your phones should be put away while you are in class. You can listen to music (no one else should be able to hear) but are not allowed to watch movies or videos on your phones during class time.
If you need to make or take a phone call, please step outside of the classroom.
Computers and Headphones
Computers and headphones are provided for your use during class time. You may not take them with you.
At the end of class, please sign out of any programs, put the computer/headphones back and plug the computer in.
New Students
Remind app - Class code is llccmt - join this app to communicate with your instructor and get class reminders.
Email - a second way to communicate with your instructor: kimberly.martin@llcc.edu.
My Why - Think about the reason you are in this class and what a high school diploma would mean to you. In 3-4 paragraphs, hand-write on paper why you have a goal to finish the program and what you want to accomplish after you have finished this program and have your diploma. Examples: To obtain a (name of) job; To provide a better future for myself and my family; To obtain the requirements for further education, etc. This "essay" is a requirement for the grant that funds this program. Once complete, give to your instructor.
Illinois Constitution - ilconstitution.org/login - Register at this website, read through all the information and answer any questions. Once done, you will receive a certificate. You’ll need to download it to your computer and email it to your instructor.

Use your legal name that is on your State ID/Drivers License. Use your personal email. Make sure you include your Social Security Number. Make sure you select Lincoln Land at the Shepherd Road address for your Test Prep Center. You will use this link to take your practice tests. You will also use this website to schedule your actual tests.
I-Pathways and Essential Ed
You will be signed up to use one of these programs. You will receive an email with your login and password information. Please wait until you receive that email to join.
i-Pathways - https://www.i-pathways.org/ - we will use your personal email - primary tool you will use to study each of the subjects
Essential Education - https://app.essentialed.com/start/llcc - we will use your personal email - primary tool you will use to study each of the subjects
Testing
There are 3 different types of tests you will take through this program. It’s important for you to know the difference between each.
Post-testing - All students are required to do this after 40 hours of class time. This is the test you took at your orientation.
Practice Tests - Tests are $7.99 each. LLCC will provide those for you through ged.com after you have completed a subject area on i-Pathways or Essential Ed as long as you have been showing up and participating in class. You must score 145 or higher to be ready for an Actual Test. You can pay for Practice Tests on your own at any time.
Actual Tests - Tests are $36. LLCC can usually pay for these. You have to pass a Practice Test and fill out a Voucher Form (link provided at that time) before that happens. Once you’ve been approved and a voucher has been provided for you, it’s your responsibility to schedule the test through the Regional Office of Education on Dirksen Parkway. You will need to take your State ID/Drivers License with you when you take your test. You need to select an IN-PERSON test. LLCC will NOT pay for your next test if you fail to show up or you fail your test.
